The M1 Abrams is the United States' Main Battle Tank. Named after General Crieghton Abrams, the M1 series is a powerfully armed, extremly well protected and highly mobile main battle tank. The Abrams tank is used to destroy enemy tanks, vehicles, emplacments and to support ground infantry. It is outfited with Heavy composite, RHA, depleted uanium mesh called Chobham Armor. It is the Heaviest tank in the world, weighing in at almost 69.5 tons.
